I asked some quirky questions of Anne Stryker! But first, the book: https://www.amazon.com/Moon-Faeries-Night-Sky-ebook/dp/B07DVCS2VP/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1545329777&sr=8-6&keywords=anne+stryker

Now some questions!
Welcome, Anne! What’s the weirdest scar you have and how did you get it?
Oh boy… Okay, I have quite a few scars, so I asked a friend which they thought was the weirdest, and they said my tongue scar. When I was little, I liked jumping rope, and I liked singing. Gross story short, I bit my tongue in half but only in the middle, so thankfully it healed up normally, despite all the screaming.
Oh, my! I never knew singing was so dangerous! What’s your biggest screw up in the kitchen?
Once upon a time, I got it in my head to make cinnamon rolls. I put them in the oven and went to either work or write, who knows. Anyway, when I checked on them, they were on fire. My oven exploded smoke and steam. My fire alarm went off. I panicked.
Thankfully, I didn’t burn down my house, but immediately after I had everything under control, I went and dropped nacho cheese from Taco Bell on my PJs and fried my quesadilla in the microwave until it was just lava cheese…
I’m generally a mess
in the kitchen…
I am an expert at setting things on fire in my kitchen! Great story! Have you ever had an imaginary friend? Tell us about them!
I have (note present tense) all the imaginary friends! I have a bad/good habit of throwing myself headfirst into the worlds I create when I write. It’s problematic because I will pretend that my characters are always with me, and I will reply to them aloud. Even my quiet characters get pictured doing something, and occasionally with a new story, I use past characters as my sounding board. Call me crazy, but we sure have a good time.
It sounds like a good time! Quick! Ask your spouse/closest friend/parent or sibling to describe you in three words. What did they say?
I asked my friend and they said: Endearing, Intelligent, Refreshing. I’m not sure how to respond to that last one, but I’m blushing. (Shameless plug? Is that allowed? This friend is my cover artist, and she is amazing, clearly. Look at that cover…)
Of course it’s allowed! It’s your interview! What is one of your favorite quotes?
I love the quote: We create our tomorrow by what we dream today.
I have an obsession with all things dream related.
Dreams are fascinating! So before you dream, what is the last thing you do before you go to sleep?
After I’ve fed my pets, brushed my hair and teeth, and gotten my PJs on (assuming I got out of them…), I break out my bedtime story book. I keep a notebook where I’ll write a little situation the night before, tell myself the story as I go to sleep, and then write out what happened in the morning. Sometimes these little plots become something bigger. Occasionally they turn into dreams. Sometimes I’m just obsessed for a few weeks and keep a single story going for that duration… Whatever happens, the little stories are great to share! And they come with pictures!
Something other authors might want to take note of! What’s your favorite sound?
I love the sound of an Instagram message, a Discord message, an email, or a Twitter notification because they all mean that my friends or something about my book is doing well, but I have one friend, through text, who I haven’t met yet but clicked with fairly immediately. She’s my biggest supporter. My biggest fan. And my best friend. She has the only unique text tone on my phone, and it’s these happy typewriter sounds. And those happy typewriter sounds can brighten my day instantly, so they are my favorite sound.
That is a happy friendship sound! Thank you, Anne, for taking the time to answer my quirky questions! Support Anne and get to know her and all her friends, real and imaginary, on social media! We’ll be here next Friday with more questions and answers!
Happy reading! 🙂
